Sleepy Bobos

A story of mine is featuring over at Babble.com today. You can comment there, if you have a moment, to spark the conversation. Thanks guys.

Ted woke us three times last night to talk his midnight crazy talk. We're making big plans to move him and Ivy into a room together in the next few weeks. Good idea? Or crazy like Anne Heche? I'm optimistic it will all go well. (But if you see me at the shops, be kind and ignore the anxious tic...)

  1. LOVED IT! You are a very funny woman. I have a 7-year-old who still wakes up because the sheets are 'wrinkled and bunched up' or the cat is in his room. He has no recollection of these dialogues the following morning - we think it's similar to the sleep-walking state. He'll be moving out soon though...

  3. DO IT! We've just DONE IT. Changed our lives. They sleep. We sleep. Getting to the Land of Nod had seemed like trying to find Narnia (with nary wardrobe in sight) now it's like popping out to the shops. DO IT! Bx

  4. Bas slept at his grandparents last night. I woke up at 2.50am and wondered why it was so quiet...

  5. Ours all sleep in together, mostly it's great, occasionally it's really awful! We have gotten into a good system lately of 'baby' to bed first then once he is asleep the other 2 go in & one of us sits in the rocking chair until they are asleep (or until we successfully sneak out). This cuts out the talking, etc & then they mostly all sleep all night. The sitting in with them feels a drag at times but it is usually only about 10mins max so now I enjoy the peace. Plus the other parent on hand usually has a good chunk of the dishes done by the time they are down. They can come into our bed in the morning as this stops them waking each other up.

Good luck, good luck, good luck!

Whatever system you find I'm sure it will work out in the end!

  6. Best of luck with the move, Rachael...we play a rousing game of Musical Beds around here, but as long as everybody sleeps, it's all good.

  8. Hey Rach, I tried to find the article today but had trouble. Would love to read it. Also, let me know how you go with the room sharing. I want Oscar and Auden to share but Oscar says, "No mummy, Oscar sleep good Oscar's room".
